What is the CBS Magnetic Wood System?
The CBS Magnetic Wood System is an open-source approach to creating magnetic wood flooring.
CBS supplies the magnetic technology and provides the practical expertise needed to successfully incorporate it into engineered wood flooring products, enabling easy access to floor voids and supporting design for disassembly.

CBS Magnetic Foil
A PVC-free magnetic film with high strength adhesive fim and release liner designed for easyapplication to engineered wood flooring. Creates a secure connection between the flooring and a magnetically receptive sub-floor.
CBS Magnetic Foil with Dual-Grip™ Technology
Our patented IOBAC Dual-Grip™ film technology provides enhanced horizontal stability between the magnetic wood flooring and sub-floor, helping to reduce movement and tracking.
Manufacturing consultancy
We advise manufacturers on the practical process of converting engineered wood flooring to magnetic flooring, including foil application, manufacturing processes and packaging.

Magnetic technology for engineered wood flooring
CBS Magnetic Foil is a high-performance PVC-free magnetic film with a high-strength acrylic adhesive on one side for application to the underside of engineered wood flooring.
The magnetic side creates a secure connection to a suitable magnetically receptive sub-floor, while allowing the wood flooring to be uplifted and separated without permanently bonding it to the floor beneath.
The result is magnetic wood flooring designed for secure installation, easy separation and future reuse.
Available With Patented IOBAC Dual-Grip™ Technology for Enhanced Grip
CBS Magnetic Foil can be supplied with our patented IOBAC Dual-Grip™ film technology, providing an additional dimension of hold between the magnetic wood flooring and sub-floor.
This enhanced horizontal stability helps prevent movement and tracking over time.
For optimum long-term performance, it is recommended that around 10% of the total floor area is fitted with magnetic wood flooring using IOBAC Dual-Grip™ technology, making it easier to install whilst improving durability and resistance to movement in high-traffic environments.

UV Identification
We can also advise on the identification of these critical access planks within magnetic wood flooring installations using a high-performance UV stamp applied to the wood surface.
Invisible under normal lighting, the UV marking can be quickly located using an inexpensive UV lamp, eliminating the need for detailed floor mapping and making it easy to identify the correct sequence for plank removal and refitting.
This simple but effective system allows individual planks to be rapidly lifted using suction lifters, providing efficient access to services beneath the raised access floor while minimising disruption.
